The Community Legacy Recognition Policy outlines how Council formally recognises individuals, groups, or events that have made a significant and lasting contribution to the Shire.

The policy also sets criteria to determine what qualifies as a 'legacy,' focusing on long-term community benefit and alignment with council values, while making sure recognition is appropriate, meaningful, and not duplicated by existing awards or honours.

The Policy has recently been reviewed and updated to include a framework regarding the maintenance and updating of Council's Order of Australia Recipients Honours Board to ensure a consistent and fair approach when recognising local individuals who have received an Order of Australia Award.

Should feedback be provided during the public exhibition period, it will be considered and incorporated where appropriate prior to the policy being finalised.
